Question: What are the likely effects of the BP oil spill on whales and marine life?
Obviously those covered in oil will suffer, I was just wondering how toxic the oil is, and what the effect will be on wildlife esp whales who come into contact with the oil after it moves beyond the Gulf of Mexico.
I've tried googling this but without a science background it's hard to know what the good sources are.
Answer: It will damage the ecosystem a fair bit but it will recover eventually. Have a look at WDCS as they tend to look into things like this and keep supporters up to date.
