Sharks
Sharks are usually portrayed as large, vicious fish with sharp teeth and would eat you alive. Although some sharks are like that and there are many shark attacks, there are other types of sharks that are totally harmless to humans. Sharks vary greatly in size and characteristics. There are hundreds of types of sharks. The biggest sharks are whale sharks and the smallest sharks are the pygmy sharks. Whale sharks can be as long as forty feet long while pygmy sharks are about 6 inches long.

Among most talked about sharks are great white sharks, frilled sharks, tiger sharks, whale sharks, hammerhead sharks, goblin sharks, bull sharks, and with them are the question of shark attack.
Sharks are everywhere in all ocean. However, most sharks stay in warm ocean water. Sharks have boneless skeleton of tough, elastic cartilage with streamlined bodies. |
The body shape of the shark helps the shark swim fast and with least ocean water resistance.
Shark reproduction
Shark reproduction is fascinating. Most fish have millions of eggs but sharks only have few eggs which mature slowly. Shark eggs are fertilized inside female sharks. Most shark eggs are hatched also inside female sharks. Roughly fourth shark species lay shark eggs outside their bodies. These shark eggs are at risk of being eaten by mature sharks or other large ocean life.
